And this time, we cooperated with one of the famous end-use robotics companies in China, Ti5robot.

How to Manufacture

 

To dedicatedly deliver the best quality in short lead time, we made separated solutions to make parts for Ti5robot, including smart bionic hand and collaborative robot. For the parts that used as shell and frame, 3D Printing and vacuum casting is adopted. SLS nylon 3D Printing is the ideal process to make a rugged and robust housing. PA12 Black and PA12 White are the material printed, the robot parts are formed with high accuracy and great dimensional stability. For those areas require flexibility and mobility, vacuum casting with TPU is capable of creating durable and flexible parts that are not easy to crack and peel over time.

Due to complex geometries and higher precision requirement, building internal parts for robots is complicated. For example, the bearings feature narrow and long structures that are prone to deform because of low rigidity. An in this case, tolerance, accuracy, and surface finish cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, we generated a specified CNC machining solution to make metal parts of the robots. We utilize 3-axis CNC machining to remove most of the unnecessary material of the workpiece at the first place to reduce production cost and time. 5-axis CNC machining is used on the 3-axis machined workpieces to ensure that the final parts meet all detailed specifications. To enhance efficiency and facilitate lead time, our pre-programmed system can assign the most suitable fixtures and cutting tools for each part. Material was chosen as aluminum alloys, post-processing and surface finishing were applied to improve the physical and mechanical properties of the final parts. High quality, high precision, and cost-effective achieved though this solution.
